Tabernacle Choir Birthday Bash!

We super lucked out this year and managed to snag 7 tickets to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert! The Concert was on the 13th, so We pulled the kids out of school early on their birthday and drove to Moab. Cliff and Elana came with us and we had a fun birthday dinner at Pizza Hut followed by a pool party at the hotel that night.
On Thursday,  we drove the rest of the way to Salt Lake. We had an incredible dinner with an incredible view at the Roof restaurant in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. After dinner, we toured Temple square before going to the concert. Kristen Chenoweth was the special guest preformer with the choir and together they put on an incredible show! We loved every minute of it.
We spent the night at Adam's cousin, Jana Rupp's beautiful home, then made the long drive back home on Friday. We stopped briefly in Moab for a little hike and some lunch and were home by Friday Night

Thanksgiving Reunion

We had a very Happy Thanksgiving feast with all the Quists. It was wonderful to eat and play games with all of my siblings and my Grandma and Grandpa Burk.
On Friday and Saturday we had a Burk family Reunion. The reunion started off with buggy rides at Sycamore creek Friday morning. On Friday night we had a Harry Potter Party, then on Saturday we all met at the park for a potluck picnic. I regret not taking many pictures of the weekend because it was so much fun. I loved seeing so many of my cousins and aunts and uncles.

Four Peaks Hike

The boys had an awesome time at the annual Harvest Valley Ward Four Peaks hike. They invited cousin Cliff to go with them again this year. I'm so glad they all had a safe and fun hike.

Soccer Stars!

Eliza and Sarah both made the Snowflake High School JV soccer team this year. They had a blast as they played their best and gave their all on the soccer field. Most of the time, Eliza played foreward and Sarah played defense. They are both so blessed with amazing athletic abilities. Towards the end of the season, Eliza got "called up" to play on the varsity team, and she got to play in the Lumberjack stadium at NAU during Playoffs. The team didn't place in the playoffs, but they sure gave it their best effort, and Eliza loved the feeling of playing in that beautiful stadium.
I'm so proud of both girls! Go Lobos!

Eliza's Patriarchal Blessing

Eliza received her patriarchal blessing from Patriarch Maner on Sunday October 28th.
We were all in awe at the many amazing and miraculous promises given to Eliza. She will be mighty  a force for good in this world as she stays on the path the  Lord has set for her.
We love our Eliza!

Happy Halloween

We're not really big into Halloween anymore, but that doesn't stop us from enjoying our annual pumpkin carving contest with the Carpenters.  Caleb won the contest this year! Way to go Caleb!

Conference in the Snow!

It was a wonderful surprise to wake up last Sunday to snow! It rarely snows this early in the season and last year we didn't get much snow at all so we were just thrilled!  It was also General conference weekend. (the day before it was announced that church services on Sundays were being changed from three hours to two!) After watching the first session at home, we decided to take the show on the road and watch the second session in the mountains. We love living in a day and age where we can get conference on our phones. We listened to and watched conference in the car as we drove around enjoying the scenery and the snowfall.  What a perfect day!

Family Pictures

We love it when fall starts to color all the aspen trees in the mountains. We decided to go for a buggy ride and take some family pictures while we were at it! Elana and her kids came with us. We rode in a area by Big Lake that I had never been before and we saw lots of deer and elk. The weather was so beautiful and we all had a great time.

Motor home makeover

We bought a motorhome, sight unseen and boy did it need some work! The great thing about this motor home is that, even though it was gross and ugly, and leaked, it ran SUPER good, and was SUPER affordable. We knew that with a little hard work and determination we could make it something we'd all love and enjoy.
We all worked together on this project. The kids helped with the demo work and Adam replaced all the flooring and fixed the leaks and generator. I did the painting and the upholstery and added the final touches.
The end result was just what we were wanting! Here are some pictures of the old girl before the makeover.

Now, for the finished project!

We love our new-to-us motor home! Bring on the road trips!
