May

The month of May way BUSY!!!

We began the month by celebrating Adam’s birthday. We got together with Richard’s family and we all went out to eat at Eva’s.
Our waitress brought him a treat and smeared whipped topping all over his face! Adam was a great sport about it.

Carolyn Hulse returned home from her mission. We got to meet her at the airport when she arrived. We are grateful that she served the people in Detroit so faithfully.

While we were in the valley we had a little fun with Aunt Malorie. We went to Topgolf and had a great time hitting golf balls off of the roof. We also had some fun at Main Event.

Check out that smile, and that icecream sundae!

We were also able to squeeze in a sweet visit with grandpa Burk. When we arrived at His assisted Living apartment, we found out that he and a few other members of the church from the complex were getting ready to hold a sacrament meeting. It was a sweet experience to get to participate in that meeting. I felt the spirit so strongly as I watched my sweet grandpa painstakingly kneel down to bless the sacrament water. He could have stayed seated, we would have understood. But he made the effort to kneel. It reminded me to make more of an effort for my Savior in all things.

We also picked up this beauty while we were in the valley. We are excited for some fun adventures with our new motorhome.

On Sunday the 15th, Caleb Received the Melchizedek  priesthood and was ordained to the office of Elder. He was ordained by his dad.  His grandpas, and Uncle Richard and uncle David also participated.

After the ordination, we enjoyed watching the lunar eclipse.
The trio participated in their very last high school choir concert. It was a bittersweet moment. They sang beautifully, we loved all the songs that they performed. But we were a little sad that this. Of their life is coming to an end. Choir has been such a huge part of their high school experience and has been such a blessing for them.

After many years, we finally got some professional family pictures taken. I’m so grateful we’re able to get them done before the kids all start going their separate ways.

Caleb had his last Madrigals concert. It was a fun show. He made so many great friends in Madrigals and he’s going to miss singing with them.

Eliza and Caleb enjoyed going to prom. Eliza was asked to go by Jarrett Poulter and Caleb Asked Ellie Bateman to go with him.

On May 22, the trio graduated from seminary. We are so grateful that they had the opportunity to attend seminary and that they made it a priority during their High School years.

The day after seminary graduation, the trio headed off to St. George Utah for an epic Senior trip with a bunch of their friends.

The kids got home from their senior trip just in time to attend the school over assembly. Caleb earned The outstanding choir senior award. And Eliza was given this giant (fake) check.
We are grateful that the army will help her to get a good education without a lot of out-of-pocket expense

The Trio’s Graduation night was so memorable. I am SO grateful for all the educators, coaches, music teachers, church leaders, friends and family and friends who have become family,  who have loved and supported our Trio throughout their school years. So many individuals have cheered them on and have helped shape these three into the terrific humans they are today! We love this community and are so grateful that we followed the spiritual promptings that lead us here to Taylor almost 15 years ago.
Congratulations Eliza, Sarah, and Caleb!! You did it!

On Saturday, May 28th Caleb went to the Snowflake temple to receive his endowment. It was a sweet experience to be in a temple with Caleb and with so many family members who came to support him.

Whew! What a month!!! It was crazy busy and Crazy wonderful.
