September

Sarah kicked off the month of September by backing dozens and dozens of cookies to help pay for miscellaneous college expenses. She got so much support from friends and neighbors. She is excited to be set for college.
I needed to teach preschool, so I had to miss the drive up to Idaho to take Sarah to school. Thankfully, Just after Adam and Sarah left to begin the long drive up to BYUI, Lydia came up to stay with me for a few days. We worked on a puzzle and spent an amazing afternoon in Greer.

Meanwhile, Adam and Sarah and Richard and Calli’s family had a blast at the sand dunes and Yellowstone!

I was able to fly up to Idaho Falls just in time to spend a couple more days with Sarah before she starts classes.
After Adam picked me up, we met up with aunt Thayle
And took he out to lunch along with Aunt Lynn and Uncle Bill.

Adam and I helped get Sarah all settled into her dorm.

Look how excited she is!! We loved expthe campus together and meeting her fun roommates.

We were able to squeeze in an endowment session at the Rexburg temple with Sarah and take a few pictures before it was time to say goodbye.

Saying “Goodbye” was super hard.
We were now official “Empty Nesters”.
We did a little exploring in southeastern Utah on the long drive home.

I turned the Girls room into a little office for myself.

Cousin Jewelene and her family came up for a quick overnight visit.

We have loved getting Eliza’s weekly phone calls each Sunday. She has been doing SO awesome in Basic training and we can tell that she has been growing spiritually as well as physically.

One fun thing we look forward to, is receiving pictures from Sister Hill each week. Sister Hill is a Military Relations Missionary in the branch at Ft. Sill.  She includes the friends that Eliza takes to church with her. Eliza often invites her friends from other faiths to attend church with her and many times they accept her invitations!

Caleb loves La Grande Idaho, and has made so many friends in his area. He says the people there are so kind and welcoming.

Caleb had a blast mountain biking with some of the other Elders in his district.

A sweet couple posted this picture of Elder Gurr and Elder Rees on Facebook along with the following post:

These are the awesome missionaries we have in our area! We love having them over and listening to their testimonies that inspire us to go to work! Reach out to them or any missionaries in your area if you are in need of a message about Christ and how you can feel closer to him! :)”

On September 27th, Sarah received her mission call!!!
Sarah opened her a call at aunt Lynn and uncle Bill’s house. We were able to watch her open it live from the comfort of our own living room. Richard and Calli’s family along with Aunt Pam and uncle David came over to watch with us.
Sarah was called to serve in the Texas, Houston-East Mission!
We are so excited for her! She Reports on January 16th!
