May

May was a fun and busy month!
Eliza’s 4x100m relay took #1 at the state meet! In fact the The Snowflake High school girls and boys track teams placed 1st overall at the state meet!! We are so proud of everyone on the team. Sarah’s ankle never healed up quite enough for her to participate. She was sad she couldn’t compete at the state meet, but she was very supportive and proud of the other girls on the team.

The trio all went to prom. Eliza was asked to go by Levi, Sarah was asked by Bryce and Caleb asked Tristie to go with him. Our friend Tashina Teller came and did the girls hair and makeup. They looked stunning!!

This group was so much fun! The boys all did an awesome job planning the activities leading up to the dance.
I am so happy that our children have such a wonderful group of friends.
Angela and my mom came up that weekend as well. My mom made the courage’s and boutonnières and Angela came and did the girls nails. Magnus (Angela’s son) is a little obsessed with tractors and got to spend some time with Adam and all of his tractors.

We got a contract on our home this month. The buyers have agreed to let us lease back our home until our new temporary living quarters are done being built.
Adam and a lot of his family members got 700sq ft. Of concrete done for our new barn. We are so thankful for everyone’s help.

We were able to host the Burk Family Women’s conference one last time before we move. So many “sisters” came!! We all had so much fun together.

My Grandma Burk belonged to a “craft of the month club” before she passed away. For our craft this year, those who wanted to, completed one of  her many craft projects. I think she is proud and happy that we had fun with her crafts.

April

Braunsen came up for a quick visit and he and Caleb spent the better part of an evening building a track with blocks for their remote controlled cars.  Obviously, not much has changed in the past 10 year! Haha!

Adam and I enjoyed a day date busting through snow drifts near Greens peak. Daisy came too!!

Adam and Richard have started another year of building homes in Shumway. They sure work hard and get a lot done in a short amount of time.

We went down to the valley for Emmalee and Sam’s wedding reception. They were sealed in the Gilbert temple in January, but due to Covid concerns, they waited a few months before celebrating with everyone. The only picture I got from the party, was this one with my siblings. It was a wonderful reception! We all had a great time.

The kids are all still busy with school and track. Sadly, Sarah injured her ankle, so she hasn’t been competing with the team. Caleb has been able to run the mile race at a few of the meets and is improving every time!

March

We put our home up for sale. It’s kinda sad, and kinda exciting. We’ve lived here for over 13 years and made so many wonderful memories here. It will be sad to say goodbye, but exciting to start a new chapter of our lives.

The kids started their track season this month. The girls 4x100 relay team is awesome!!

We took a quick trip down to the valley. The girls are so sweet to spend some time with their cousins. We all loved meeting baby Jace for the first time.

We enjoyed the high school Spring choir concert.

Sarah was inducted into the National Honor society this month. Great job Sarah!!

February

Caleb picked up on a new hobby. He loves making these airplanes out of foam boards. He’s able to attach small mechanical parts to them and they really fly!! It’s so cool.

The girls and I worked at the flower shop (Watson’s)  for a couple days before Valentine’s Day. It was pretty fun. I was able to brush up on my flower designing skills. Sarah and I worked at the Tempe store with Lydia. Eliza worked at the Mesa shop with Grandma Quist, Aunt Ashley and Aunt Angela.

Caleb spent some time mountain biking with Braunsen.

The Hulses came up for a fun day of snowmobiling and sledding at our favorite sledding hill.

A week later, Adam and the kids went snowmobiling with Malory and Braunsen and Eliza’s friend Cambria.

January

The new year began with winter formal for the trio. Winter formal is a “girl ask guy dance”. Caleb was asked by Ashley. Eliza asked Hyrum, and Sarah went with Gage. Eliza and Caleb were in the same group for the date. Sarah was in a different big group.
The girls looked beautiful and all three kids had a great time.
(Even if Caleb’s date was a drama Queen!!) 😂

Adam got a new (Bigger) excavator this month.

This year, there was an extreme lack of snow in the mountains. We had to settle for taking the Ranger out early in the month. However, towards the end of January we finally got just enough snow to have some fun with the snowmobiles.

Adam also got to go snowmobiling in Colorado with Jason and Uncle Tom.

December

This Christmas season was a bit different than it has been in year's past. Many of the usual celebrations and traditions had to be cancelled or changed because of Covid. But I really didn't mind. I enjoyed the slower, more thoughtful pace of the holidays this year. We really missed the kids choir concert. We were able to watch it on-line, but it just wasn't the same. We were so happy that one of our favorite traditions wasn't cancelled, the town Nativity. It was so wonderful to watch the re-enactment of the events surrounding our Saviors birth.

Christmas was extra fun for us this year, because the Hulses and grandma and Grandpa Quist came and celebrated with us this year. We had a wonderful Christmas eve dinner together and had fun opening presents together on Christmas morning. We spent Christmas day enjoying new gifts, playing games, watching movies and working on jigsaw puzzles.

The day after Christmas We played in what little snow we could find in The mountains, and then came home and played  more games, watched more movies, and just enjoyed being together.

We're so glad the Hulses came, so We could get to know EmmaLee's fiance Sam!
We are happy to welcome him to the family. He and EmmaLee are a great match.

2020 sure had it's fair share of ups and downs. There were some struggles, but SO many blessings as well. We had more time to spend together as a family and slow down and focus on what's really important in our lives. I'm grateful for all the lessons of 2020 and look forward to another year of learning and growing.
